The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) said that the decision to reduce the cut-off marks for admission into tertiary institutions was done by stakeholders in the education sector.According to Vanguard reports, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede who is the registrar of JAMB also stated that universities could raise their cut off marks above 120 but not more than 180.
This has been widely criticized by the Public and regarded as a failure in the Education sector. ASUU has also rejected the scores.
