APGA TO FIELD CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENCY IN 2015

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief (Sir) Victor Umeh has disclosed plans by the party to field a Presidential Candidate in Nigeria in 2015 as stipulated by the Party’s constitution.

Speaking during the Party’s convention held in London, UK on 3rd November 2012, Chief Umeh maintained that there is no going back to the decision of the Party’s stakeholders to field a candidate in the forth-coming Presidential election in Nigeria in 2015, adding that all party members should work assiduously towards promoting the good image of the party and to desist from anything that will bring disrepute to the party.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha told all APGA faithfuls present at the convention that “APGA is our religion and we don't want leaders that are interested in winning the next election but leaders that are poised to deliver the dividends of democracy to the future generation of Nigerians.”

He thanked APGA UK for attracting investors to Nigeria and Chief Aloysius Ihezie of Choice textiles UK for donating one million textbooks to Imo State Government.

Adding his voice, a frontline member of APGA and Chairman of the APGA UK 2012 Convention Committee, Mr. Micheal Udeogba said that the success of the convention has sent a strong message to APGA contenders and that APGA is ready to retain Anambra State and become a ruling party in Nigeria come 2015.

In a response, Chief Ihezie promised to extend the goodwill gesture to other South East States in Nigeria.

Dignitaries present at the occasion include, Sen Annie Okonkwo (C21 President), Chief Martin Agbaso, Chief Ziggy Azike, Mrs Chinwe Nwaebili, the Anambra State Speaker of the House of Assembly, Iyom Uche Ekwunife, Hon House of Reps member, Imo State APGA Chairman Hon Marshall Okafor, Hon Vitalis Anyaebulam, Anambra State Deputy State Chairman Chief Ekwueme Ogidi, APGA State Working Committee members and Commissioners from two APGA controlled states and a host of others. In their key note speeches, they all maintained that APGA will always stand for good governance.
