Okorocha welcomes South Africa's President, Jacob Zuma to Imo state, confers on him Traditional title

The President of South Africa, Mr. Jacob Zuma, on Friday, arrived Owerri, Imo State capital, for a two-day visit.

He arrived at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport at exactly 7.10pm and was received by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha.

Obasanjo had arrived in the state one hour earlier before Zuma’s arrival.

In his speech, Zuma said he was in the state to form a partnership between his foundation and the Rochas Foundation College of Africa in a bid to cater for the underprivileged children in Africa.

He said, “While in Imo, the Zuma Foundation would sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Rochas Foundation and I would also meet with Imo businessmen and businesswomen.


“I would equally visit the Rochas Foundation College of Africa and interact with 
the students, who are from African countries.”

Zuma was given the traditional title of “Ochiagha Imo” by Eze Imo, HRH Samuel Ohiri on Friday evening


The chieftaincy title certificate was presented to him by former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
