I must say that i was sceptical at first wondering if this was just a hoax but alas my fears were unfounded lol.
The Njiko carnival in Imo state can be viewed as first of its kind in the South east region of Nigeria. According to its mission statement, one of its purpose is to present the traditional arts and culture of South-East Nigeria as a viable offering to contemporary Nigeria and the Diaspora, while laying a foundation for commercial and industrial development to attract business opportunities outside the zone.
The Cordinator of this grand event is Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa aka Charly boy who is a pioneer in the Media and Entertainment industry in Nigeria.
For me, its a very good step in preserving the Igbo culture and an event to greatly encourage.
The Njiko carnival is scheduled to hold on December 27th - 30th so be home my fellow imolites and attend!
