As Former Governor of Abia state, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu joins the ruling political party in Nigeria, the APC, Rochas Okorocha of Imo state congratulated him and describes it as a very good development not only for the party but for the South East region.
Orji Uzor Kalu was part of The Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) party which won the gubernatorial elections in 2003 and 2007 in Abia State and in 2007 in Imo State with The Governor of Abia State is Chief Theodore Orji and the Governor of Imo State is Chief Ikedi Ohakim as its candidates. They both eventually decamped to PDP.
