The management of Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri in Imo State, has expelled 26 students while 26 others were suspended for one academic session over varying offences, including examination malpractices.
This was even as one student was asked to retake some courses.

The institution’s Registrar, Mr. Matthew Aligbe, who spoke to newsmen in Owerri, also said that the punishments handed down to the affected students were in line with the prescriptions for such infractions.
According to Aligbe, the institution warned all students on admission that the school management had zero tolerance for all manner of vices, including examination malpractice, cultism, arson, sexual abuse, among other despicable acts.
